2020 August 23 - The Helix Nebula from Blanco and Hubble

In today's image, we see the Helix Nebula - an example of a planetary nebula. This is what happens near the end of the life of a star much like our own Sun. The core collapses down to a white dwarf about the size of Earth while the outer layers are expelled out into space.
