Why I spend $150 on a massage every month 👀 #shorts

I spend exactly $146.90 on a massage every single month 💆🏼‍♀️

I have scoliosis, and one way that I manage the pain is by getting monthly massages (if you’re curious, I have an ‘S’ curve, and I wore a back brace for five (5) years when I was younger!).

This is something that might look frivolous when you look at my budget with no explanation, but for me it’s a healthcare cost (and as I’m self-employed, I don’t have benefits to cover this so I pay fully out of pocket).

A budget is personal, and it’s up to you to decide what to prioritize - and I think it’s easy for people to prioritize fun and ‘useless’ spending over things that actually add value to their life (and remember, this is personal - what adds value to our lives may be different).

What’s a non-negotiable in your budget? Let us know!

As a RMT - this makes me so happy! It’s important to take care of yourself. It’s not money misspent, that’s for sure.

I had a bout of nerve pain over the course of a month, so I completely understand health-related expenses. Your health is you biggest wealth. So though it is a varied amount, I prioritize quality food in my budget.

Dentist every three months is a non-negotiable due to my condition. Fruits and vegetables and a good bag of coffee are my other must-haves

I would recommend to see a chiropractor as well. That helped me a lot with my scoliosis

I’m glad you found something that works for you! I have scoliosis as well, but for some reason overtime the pain disappeared. Losing the weight, I was pretty heavy, definitely helped….but now I have no pain and no idea why LMAO. Only thing different is I do carnivore and I highly doubt that is the reason why😂

Yes it’s definitely important if it helps!. A lot better than going down the painkiller route like I did! I was in so much pain and my doctor just kept prescribing me strong painkillers. I eventually started swimming and that really helped so I didn’t want the pills anymore, Too late! I was totally addicted and didn’t even know it until I stopped taking them!. I ended up in a Detox Rehab hospital for a month, They put me on Methadone and tried to take me off that in the last week and it failed! So I was on the pills for 4 yrs, Methadone for 9 years now!!! And I was the person who never did drugs! I didn’t even like to take baby aspirin for a headache!. Im about to start a miracle new drug next month, Instead of taking Methadone every day, I will only have to have one injection a month! Hopefully it will give me more of my life back! Especially as I’ll be able to travel more!! ❤

Your spine is what mine looks like after corrective surgery, I can’t walk now thanks to my scoliosis

You might benefit from a chiropractor more. Also, the cost per treatment is about half of the massage.

Maybe a chiropractor once in a while would help….
