Encaustic Junk Journal Experiment

I'm so excited about this encaustic experiment! I've always loved paper crafting and junk journaling and I'm always looking for ways to combine them with encaustic. Well, after discovering a gel medium that is designed specifically for encaustic medium, I had to give it a try and put this little encaustic junk journal together.
This journal experiment didn't work completely, but it worked well enough for me to consider the whole project a success.

All the pages come out so beautifully & the whole book is just gorgeous. Those lovely translucent text pages add so much to it too.

It turned out fabulous! I actually love the variety of colours you got going here. Looking forward to see what you do next with it. Would the YES! paste/glue have worked better for your cover maybe? If you glue all those pieces first, then saturate with wax after?....just a thought. Thanks for the video, very helpful!

Did you do anything to flatten the rice paper after you waxed it? I wax many different kinds of paper, and sometimes they warp badly. I really enjoyed this video and look forward to the next in the series. I have learned so much from your YouTube channel.

Beautiful demo! How do the pages of the finished book not stick together? I have a fair amount of experience with both encaustic, and book making, but would never have thought that they could go together... Is it because you are primarily using "rice" paper?

What do you do with the paper once it’s coated with the wax? I mean where do you set the paper and/or the fabric while waiting for the wax to set up?
