Mukthi or Liberation is freedom from the prison of your own ignorance and illusions of the mind. Due to ignorance and illusions of the mind we suffer...we are dissatisfied...we are unhappy. So you could say it is liberation from suffering...freedom from suffering.

However, upon Liberation (i.e. Enlightenment), you clearly realize that all of that time you spent in the process of freeing yourself from bondage was the delusion of bondage itself.

It’s a very general answer. Nirvana is actually a state beyond the senses. Many spiritual gurus explain it. We can never understand it unless we reach there. So no point in trying to make guesses. But the technical correctness should be there in the definition- it is a place beyond senses.
