The Framingham Study is world-renowned epidemiologic research that began in 1948 with the mission of understanding the occurrence of heart disease in the general population and identifying factors that contribute to its onset. More than six decades later, Framingham has taught us much about the development, treatment, and prevention of the leading cause of death in America.
Dr. Paula Quatromoni discusses her role as an investigator on this epic study, specifically, nutrition research that helps to inform current dietary guidance for health promotion.
