Nice wind-up to this mini-series.
Some might say that demonstrating this (deprecated?) approach to asynchronicity isn't good but I disagree...
The example used illustrated delegates nicely and also shows how they are used in a lot of real-world applications which may require maintenance.
Knowing the hows and whys of this approach is a good grounding.

Dude its so weird hearing a fellow South African on the internet. The reason I went looking for an Async callback tutorial is that the TCP library in .NET still uses them instead of tasks, I think a tutorial on that would be a great follow up to this.
