Sneak Peek - Kia EV3 - The compact electric SUV that you NEED to know about!

If there is one manufacturer that has really shifted their image over the past 30 years, then surely it has to be Kia? Once the makers of humdrum hatchbacks, the Korean firm has fully embraced electrification and now produces some of the very best electricians you can buy. After the Soul and original Niro, the company gave us the slinky EV6, the incredibly versatile new Niro, and then the big, burly EV9. Well now it has turned its attention to one of the biggest market sectors of all, the B-segment small SUV with the new EV3. Will lightning strike again for the brand? Bryan travels to Germany to bring you all the details of the new compact family EV.

This car looks beautiful, so sleek and looks to have more than enough room inside. I am due to change my Hyundai Kona ev in September, this has jumped to the top of my list.

Thanks for a great review once again, not so sure about your . I live in New Zealand and Kia are just the bees knees over here, in the top 3 of all brands! I am not surprised either, as quite often I find myself head turning, and yes - it was a Kia. I drive a very lovely and easy to get along with MG zsev, (recommended sort-of by yourself) and for the past 2 years it has performed faultlessly, and one of the things I do like is the row of short cut buttons under the main screen, just like this Kia. Next week we will be off to see good old UK again, ( I left in 1964) and have not seen it since. We have several Scottish friends up here in Waipu, as it was a Scottish settlement in this area, and they are still very proud of it too! So my mate Robert Adam (! say no more), has suggest several places for us to visit. We will have to shorten our stay over there however, as the government has suddenly decided to have a snap election, so we want to be out a couple of days beforehand. If the EV3 does come to NZ, I will be very interested in trading up. The connectivity will be a thing in the future, V to L and V to G will create a new way of power sharing.

if a top spec version comes in at under 40k and thus avoids the luxury car tax thats coming into force in April 25, them i would happily own one.

The EV3 is a well designed, good and practical EV. It's not too big, not too small, just the right size SUV. I'm sure KIA will sell a lot of them.

This will replace my 2020 Soul EV, just that little bit bigger everywhere (especially the boot) without being a massive SUV, really suits our family needs. It will be interesting to see how the efficiency is in this being 400V with the 800V cars they seem to suffer compared to the early Niro/Kona/Soul efficiency, but make up for that with their stellar charge speed. As I very rarely need to rapid charge 30 minute charge time is fine to reduce costs

I've watched numerous EV3 walk-throughs and this is the best so far. Someday we will learn about the guts: what battery, what motors, what electronics. Maybe Sandy Munro will tear one apart.

There'll be a Kia EV2 in 2026 and that should be closer in size to the Soul EV.
If the range is good then that could be one to watch out for if you don't need a big car.

I've owned a Niro ev since march...beatiful car & works perfectly, but this ev3 looks like a real winner, & will be seeing it being "revealed" in Aug...if you can get them in black, I just might! Excellent video
