Honestly, I think you needed to go more indepth about why they have breathing problems. They're a SUPER popular breed which means there are so many being given up or put down due to respiratory issues because they have a face so smooshed by breeding for "cuteness". They can't even give birth without a C-section and when people that got pandemic pets or even just a "cute" family dog realize the chronic illnesses they'll face from this breed, soooo many of them are given away or killed. :(

Getting my frenchy was one of the best things I’ve done. He is the absolute best dog!

I had a french bully. He was the most sweetest dog ever. His personality was so loving and playfull. Sadly we had to let him go after 3 short years. He developed a auto immune disease witch affected his ability to walk.. sweet little puppy was the best dog i ever could wish for.

Something I wish I knew about before getting my dog is cherry eye which is extremely common in flat faced dog breeds… if you don’t know what it is I encourage you to google it for I can not give a very good description.

The one in the wheelchair is the coolest. He straight up drifted that thing effortlessly and I'm loving it. I need him in my life.

Don't buy these guys from a breeder. They are bred for looks and therefore have terrible breathing and joint problems. Why would you condemn an animal to a life of health issues just because their cute?

PLEASE READ BEFORE GETTING ONE!!!

I used to have a French bulldog I got him 4 years ago he had done his back in ( a plate of some kind moved in his body or something) this was in 2020 we took him to the animal hospital he was alright until June 2022… the surgery didn’t work well so the bottom half of his body were paralysed so we took him the vets we hoped we could get him wheels or something for him but his bladder was paralysed aswell so he was going to you know sooner or later but he was going through pain so we had to get him put down this happens to most French bulldogs lots have breathing problems so I would recommend getting one if you have the money to take care of it

Rip Alfie 2018-2022 you will always be missed never forgotten fly high brother🕊️🕊️🕊️

*Before getting any dog, do research on breed specific harmful traits unless you are 100% willing to help the dog live a comfortable life need be*

Dogs with “smushed faces” (brachycephalic sculls) live a life of agony. Lack of sinuses cause them to be so much more prone to heat stroke because the air can not be cooled enough before entering their lungs. Not only that but they have so much tissue in their tiny heads that their airways become obstructed. When a dog receives anesthesia, the vets place a breathing tube in their throat to make sure they get oxygen. Not only does this cause the gums of brachycephalic dogs change color from getting proper amounts oxygen, but when they wake up from anesthesia they tend to prefer having a breathing tube. Keep in mind that breathing tubes are extremely uncomfortable and even painful for some. Living animals and people tend to freak out when waking up and feeling that they have a tube in their throat, meaning that brachycephalic dogs are in more pain without a breathing tube than with one. Does this mean we should kill all living dogs with these genetics? No, but we should not be allowed to breed and profit off of these specific dangerous gene traits. Change starts with respectful education ❤️

I’ve had my little girl for almost three months and by far the sweetest and smartest dog I’ve ever had.

My French bulldog is 9 human years old and has a very bad hip problem, congestive heart failure and recently had liquid around the heart. We took her to the vet and now she is doing fine. Best lap dog I’ve ever had

For real. They have the BEST personalities. It is so heart breaking with how easy it is for them to just die. They are not designed to sustain a happy or healthy life. They are happy and playful and have no concept on when to stop playing until their little bodies are about to die and they activity start full life shutdown. On a hot day, just standing in the shade can over heat them. They often inhale liquid like water or their own saliva. The joint issues are PAINFUL. Imagine having a little asthma attack, just enough to grab your inhaler, but 24/7. Do not recommend this breed. No matter how amazing their personalities are.

I've had Staffordshire bull terriers my whole life. I'm now alot older and my disability makes it hard for me to manage a big strong dog. The French bulldog has a body like a staffy, just a lot smaller. This will be the next pup I get when all my other dogs have lived out their lives ❤
