I would love to hear your update on the DTV visa. Apparently it's been rolled out, but when I called the Thai embassy in DC today the woman I spoke to knew less about the visa than I did. My plan is to wait a bit before applying to see what the actual deal is.

It would be the same deal as the countries which already have had 60 days visa free for a while with regards to 30 days extension.

Back in May Tourist Authority Thailand announced 60 days on arrival, I booked a 59 day return ticket from New appears it wasn't government approved, to avoid any problems I brought an onward flight after 28 days. I got 30 days on arrival. On the 15th of this month it was announced 60 days. After waiting to long I applied and received a 30 extension at a cost of 1900 baht so it cost approx 3.800 baht for my 30 days? Its so sad the government don't seem to understand how businesses are suffering thru lack of tourism. Please mention it to someone if you can.

Q with this 60 day exemption you are allowed 2 visits to Thailand in any year how do they calculate the year? any 12 months or a calendar year ie 2024 gets 2 visits, and then 2025 is a totally new year with another 2 visits for tourist

Visa exemption and visa on arrival are different things.
