Jose-Antonio Orosco, Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Oregon State University and author of the book, "Cesar Chavez and the Common Sense of Nonviolence," addresses Cesar Chavez's theoretical and practical approaches to nonviolent action. Chavez pursued traditional means of civil disobedience, such as marches and demonstrations, while also empowering farm workers to build alternatives and address structural issues that affected them all. Orosco discusses Chavez's approach to nonviolence in this PVTV video.
