Показать описание
Today, let’s visit a historical place with an incredible view of the Golden Horn together.
To reach this amazing destination, where history resonates in every corner, we can take the tram from Eminönü and then use the cable car to ascend the beautiful Pierre Loti Hill.
Once we arrive at the hill and take some amazing photos, we can continue our journey toward the Eyüp Sultan Cemetery. During this walk, we can explore the historical graves in the cemetery. If you are a tourist interested in history, this place and the old tombstones in the cemetery will surely awaken your curiosity.
The Eyüp Sultan Cemetery, one of the largest Islamic cemeteries in Istanbul, is the final resting place of sultans, grand viziers, sheikhs, ministers, commanders, royal women, courtiers, religious figures, Sufi masters, scholars, intellectuals, artists, poets, and ordinary people. While strolling through the graves, you can also enjoy the breathtaking view of the Golden Horn.
After descending from the hill, you’ll arrive at the Eyüp Sultan Mosque, one of the first mosques built in Istanbul and a highly revered site for the people of the city.
One of the most fascinating and beautiful highlights of the Eyüp Sultan Mosque is an ancient tree that is believed to be around 600 years old.
