The Kimberlina Road bridge is a great demonstration of why HSR cannot follow ordinary highway or even railroad rights-of-way. The curves on SR 43 and the BNSF look broad, but the CHSRA route curves even more gently through the area, all to accommodates trains moving about three times faster than the existing Amtrak trains or most cars on the highway.
