I don't think this urchins are rare, they can be found anywhere on rocky ocean riff

I was swimming in the beach and litteraly saw a whole bundle of them underwater (i got stung😭)

I did this also in elementary school here in California on a field trip. I dont know much about sea urchins, but the sea urchins felt weird.

Rare? They have thoae at petco. Its a long spine urchin. Banghai cardinals are striped because they use them as shelter when they are babies

We have that here in Philippines. I was exploring the rocky shores, took a dip in mini pool near a big rock and I was shocked to see these urchins clinging on those big rocks! I was scared the first time I saw them because some of them moved and they were in clusters. 😂
