Catch and Cook SQUID (JIGGING for Squid!!)

The squid are running so I had to go catch some on jigs! It's been a few years since the squid have shown up in the river, but they're back for now. I went out to try and catch a few to eat and it was a success! They're kind of small, but usually later in the summer is the best. I might do another video if the bigger ones show up.

Loved watching someone from another country catch squid. Here in Australia we (No one I know of) don't use weights. We use 4-5 inch weighted jigs and bounce near the bottom while retrieving. Our squid in Melbourne have a good that grows to over 16 inches. They are called southern calamari.

Just came across your video, awesome! Squid is a very sustainable fish and delicious. I like starting a saute pan with good olive oil, add some red pepper flake, garlic, squid, and lemon juice. Lastly I add the pasta into the pan and then on the plate. You get a nice coating of flavor over all the pasta.
