People do not seem to remember how rough it was pulling out of the Bush Great Recession. We were in a Trump economic crisis in 2019, before the pandemic hit. I think that is why Trump ignored COVID. It was an easy out for him to blame for his failure.

From what I've read and heard for years, this infrastructure plan is desperately needed. Republican governments would certainly not spend any money on this because they are only concerned with rich people who don't need roads, railroads, bridges, and other vital structures that 99% of the population uses. Rich people have helicopters and private jets that only need landing pads and airstrips. Apparently thousands of bridges are close to being unsafe for use as are thousands of oil wells. Someone has to spend the money. Tax cuts don't keep a country running.
