NASA and SpaceX send astronauts into space in historic Demo-2 mission launch | FULL
Показать описание
NASA and SpaceX sent the first crewed space mission from U.S. soil into outer space since 2001 on Saturday, after inclement weather resulted in the launch being scrubbed about 17 minutes before ignition on Wednesday.
Astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken lifted off in SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule on May 30 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to the International Space Station (ISS) at around 3:22 p.m. ET.
The mission marks SpaceX's historic first with carrying humans and it serves as the company's climactic test before NASA can certify its Crew Dragon capsule for regular operational flights.
The "new space taxi" is on a mission planned to last more than a month to help the short-handed crew aboard the International Space Station, the U.S. space agency said.
