I can't believe how calm that baby is!! 😮 My kids freaked out the first time I tried squirting the tiniest but of saline mist into their noses .. thank goodness we've never had that level of congestion! Way to go sweet baby! Way to go mom!

Do not use tap water. Use distilled water warmed with a little bit of salt. Some others are talking about sterile saline so I've never used that but it might be better and I guess you get it at the store I don't know. This is for adults. For babies check with their doctor.

That's a way to clean it, but you also risk causing ear infections that way. Our little one was the same way and we used to do this kind of cleanup after being taught by our pediatrician and a respiratory therapist. After some time they figured out that in our little one's case that it would be better to just suck it out gently without introducing saline, since it was causing backflow into his ears and cause all his acute middle ear otitis. So while a good technique, be aware, babies are all different, there's no, "one size fits all _

As a pediatric nurse, if you have a baby get a electronic suction device. It works wonderful! Make sure to learn how to use it properly but we use it on all the kids and i swear it saves kids from a trip to the hospital sometimes.
