2022 update - Australian post-study work visa for masters by coursework and research has been increased to 3 years.
Canadian 2 years masters also stand at 3 years of pswp

Yes it’s *drumrolls* Canada vs Australia
1. Overall costs: we all know Australia is the most expensive country to study in as an international student but lemme tell you how expensive it can get. You can expect to spend around $39,000-$57,000 per year to study in Australia whereas only $25,000-$47,000 per year in Canada. So Canada takes the cake here.
Canada 2; Australia 0
Yeah coz money makes the world go round

2. PR permits: I know you already know this coz you're smart, we all have heard about polite and welcoming Canada, hence it's fairly easy to get a PR but it is a complicated process in Australia and could take some time.
Canada: 4; Australia 0
Canada is wining.

3. Job opportunities: Jobs like nurse practitioner, program analyst, teacher, pharmacist, financial manager, construction manager, etc. are some of the most sought-after positions in Canada. whereas top jobs in Australia are education, medical services, hospitality industry, computer system design, accounting, etc.
Canada 5; Australia 1.5

Lets cut some slack for aus.

*ding ding ding ding* You guessed it right Canada won by a fat margin.
They both are not too different from each other as they have similar lifestyles but if you don’t believe in the race to climb the corporate ladder (Yeah, Australians have the competitive streak just like Americans), quality education, warm and friendly locals, with an easier visa acquiring process Canada is the place for you but if you hate harsh winters Australia should be your pick.

Canada has a lot of serious problems that aren't publicized. Health care is "free" but income taxed at 83%, 2.1million people on a waiting list for a doctor, walk in clinics are becoming privatized which means the remaining public clinics and emergency rooms see influx of 8+ hour waits. Tuition is all time high and keeps going up. Due to the lacking immigration laws, we were overwhelmed with an influx of foreigners who used up most of the accomdations and higher education platforms, so we can no longer house and teach our own. Rent is averaging 3k a month. Housing is averaging 1 million so no one can buy unless they bought 20 years ago. Due to inflation, homelessness is spiking, and crime is going up like crazy. The number of armed break ins, robberies, stabbings and drug related crimes is becoming more and more common. Jobs are basically non existant and those that are will pay only minimum or want 5+years experience. We are in a silent recession and there is no solution on the horizon and no one wants to talk about it. The way things are headed, I foresee a lot of civil unrest among Canadians...something will happen because when you push the people this far, that they cannot eat, work or sleep, eventually they snap.

Now it's 5 years of work permit in Australia. Also, PR is very difficult in Canada, unlike before.

I am Indian and I have been to both countries on various visa programs. Both countries have their pros and cons. Canada is very cold but the food is great. Australia has a wonderful night life. Both countries however do have incredible streets to shit in though. Absolutely fantastic.

Canada is connected to the world's No. 1 economy, USA. Thus, there are more job opportunities for international students during PGWP period. Many US companies have branch offices in Canada. US companies prefer Canada because of US-Canada exchange rate, well educated workforce, and they don't need to deal with the high cost of employee health care.

Australia is the best. Excellent work and life balance with generous vacation leaves. And no need to pay tips in restaurants.

Minimum wage in Canada is like 15 and in Australia it’s around 20. Money looks different to every country.

In Canada Masters options are a bit low. You may consider PG Diploma for it. But in Australia the University Rankings are top notch and legit the Best you can get
