Protesters Erupt In Montana House After Transgender Lawmaker Silenced

Protesters shouted, "Let her speak!" after the Montana House denied Rep. Zooey Zephyr permission to speak Monday. Zephyr, the first openly-transgender woman elected to the Montana House of Representatives, came under fire from Republican lawmakers after her comments on the GOP-controlled legislature's plan to ban “gender affirming” medical treatment and surgery for minors. Zephyr said the representatives would have “blood on their hands” if they voted in favor of the bill.

This began in chat rooms. Each idea was affirmed that stroked the ego. This morphed and multiplied, and now we're called bigots for calling it immoral. We're accused of offenses that had no name and were completely made up, a little over a decade ago.

You aren't telling the whole story Newsweek. 3 days earlier, after the body's opening prayer, Rep. Zephyr said, “I hope the next time there’s an invocation, when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.”  The statement was in response to a bill regarding gender affirming care for adolescents. It was not during a debate. She never asked to be recognized by the Speaker, a basic Parliamentary rule of procedure.

That was not the 1st time she has made improper remarks, she had been repeatedly warned about violating the rules of procedure with her outbursts.

After the latest instance, she was told that she needs to offer an apology to the body, before she will be allowed to debate. She has steadfastly refused to do so. All legislators are required to follow the rules of procedure, regardless of age, race, religion, gender, or gender identity.

Her belief that the rules do not apply to her is the issue here. She is promoting Anarchy & you are playing right along.
