9 @ 9: Who should move the supermarket divider?

Just recently experienced this. The person that had Items on the belt when I came up did not have a divider stick behind there items ...so I set my items about 10" inches behind then grabbed a sticker and put behind my items. The checker ignored the space and started applying my items to said person in front of me who when they noticed, immediately told the checker that that was not their items. I looked at the person and said, "It's I'm courteous do not put a sticker behind your items" and added that, "it's people like you that are irritating". The checker reassured the person in front of me that it was not her problem or her fault and then got on me about being rude to the customer, grabbed the money out of my hand and did their best to send me on my way. I told them, "Don't get on me for calling this person out on using the divider sticks-she was wrong and will probably do this again". I guess when approaching the check out belt it is entirely the next persons responsibility to put the divider on before they place their items on belt and...only a thoughtful gesture to put a divider stick behind their items when they're done placing all their items on the belt. IMO people that don't put a divider on after they place their items on the belt are LAZY, Brain dead, think only about themselves, inbred thoughtless people. Nuff said

I do self check out. So I’m next in line and I have to go through a cashier, I’ll wait until the other person is done and then I’ll start loading the belt. I don’t have carts full of merchandise, I shop a couple times a week. Never used one of those dividers and I won’t in the future.
