My Mom was watching that commercial ( circa 1970) and realized we were not at home at 10:00 pm. On a school night. She had no idea where we were, or where our friends lived or phone number. A few minutes later we all rolled in and she had questions. ( she also sniffed us for illegal substances, under the guise of pretending to hug us). We said we came home because Billy’s Mom saw some stupid commercial and made him come inside. 😂

"They had to remind bitches....!" The way she said it, though! 😂

We were told, "Be home when the street lights come on." It was the best! Playing flashlight tag in the dark, when we weren't!😂

Loved the 80's!!! They were the best!!! I'm an 80's hair band nation girl!!! Loved my hair bands, like Poison, Bon Jovi, White Lion, Tesla, Bullet Boys, etc.

I think about this all the time, whenever boomers ask you if you’re planning on having kids like it’s the most carefree, easiest thing in the world, cause back when they were parents they didn’t have to do much parenting! Just feed them, abandon them for 6 hours in the neighborhood, beat them with a stick or belt if they get in your nerves, etc. They really did have it easiest haha

So true! My brother and I were kidnapped as kids my mom didn't even notice we were gone. My brother saved us by nonstop crying and me pleaing with the 2 women to take us back. This was in Jacinto City back in the early 80's. 😂

My Aussie 80s mum : "Here's 5 bucks; go up the shop & get me a pack of smokes, & get 50 cents of mixed lollies for yourself, darl."
Those were the days!

One time, my mom forgot me at a Wienerschnitzel when I used the bathroom. If it wasn’t for my baby brother alerting her when she got home, she probably wouldn’t have remembered me until 10pm.

I remember that commercial on TV and the radio at 10Pm growing up in NYC. I told my grandkids about it. LolThe broadcast even began with an emergency alert sounding to get everyone’s attention and then a serious sounding voice stating it’s 10 pm, do you know where your children are.
