Correction. Not some. It's majorly built with Ancient India as reference.
First time I entered sumeru I was like damn.. am I at my relatives wedding? Those classical music really hits hard.
And the Akasha, and concept of sumeru ppl being knowledgeable is exactly the same as scholars of ancient India.
Well I am really surprised that these Dev's have researched so much of our culture and history and brought out best of it.

You forget that in v3.0 Samsara archon quest, we get to know that Sumeru people offers dendro archon vegetarian foods only. Just after that paimon strated fantasizing the non veg cuisine of natlan.

It is knowns fact that only hinduism represent their deity as vegetarian than any other religions. Hinduism was originated in india.

yeah i was happy when i heard that sumeru will be based on ancient India, the entire region looks so good and the lore is great as well, I just hope we get some indian characters to play as there are none so far, I would definitely pull for them

Forgotten about Nilou? Her name sounds similar to 'neelu' meaning 'water' in Tamil and other south languages. She looks like the sacred cow with the horns and her design is like a Indian court dancer

Based on Aryan mythology, there are two bother nations who come from the same source:Persian and Hindu

Just check those gods‘ name in Sumeru, most of them can be found in Iranian & Indian ancient mythology.

During the part of archon quest where we are stuck in a samsara, we can meet an NPC named Amal. He might be either from an Arab country or from India.

Also, maybe this might not prove anything, but Dehya's name is pronounced 'Diya' in game, which means 'a small oil cup made of clay' in Hindi.

There is also another another NPC during the act 5 of sumeru archon quest named Uday, who is a helper of the Grand Sage Azar

It might be possible that King Deshret (from the desert) is inspired from King Dasharatha from Ramayana

some of the words are sort of like in malayalam (lang. of kerela which is a state in india) for example like akasha which is sky in Malayalam and vissudha was prob derived from sanskrit-

Dehya means Sharir and Sharir means body, Dehya is sanskrit word I think. Also Nilou might be indian since we have similar names like Nilu without O but her robes are of egyptian dancer.

gandha is not necessarily foul smell in present Indian languages either- it depends upon the prefix added; sugandh is pleasant, durgandh is unpleasant

Bro u did a great job 👏👏 but I still think that they should have a seperate region based on India bcz almost everything seems Middle Eastern and Persian and not many Indian things are there. India is very diverse so it will be fun to have such an interesting region.
