The Yu-Gi-Oh! GX dub opening is so goofy and silly! Surely the original version is just as lighthearted and.. stupid.. right? Right..??

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYBODY! I am very proud to present to you guys, the ACCURATE opening for Yu-Gi-Oh! GX! I actually wanted to do this one before I saw the Season 0 one I did got so much love. Thank you guys so much for that! For the new year, you get to witness everybody in ever lasting pain and/or death, in Yu-Gi-Oh! form! I made this in like 3 hours and @Boriboro helped me find a couple of the scenes I used, so cheers for that!
I hope you all have a wonderful new years! Thank you all so much for your support! I look forward to another whole year of Yu-Gi-Oh! men!

GX went from random bullshit go of the week to genocide caused by love triangle to relatable journey about growing up

Jaden is just a dude who loved playing Duel Monsters, and everyone always trying to rope him into so much heavy bullshit, putting the weight of the world on his shoulders when all he wants to do is play. Its no wonder he went AWOL

The 'generation x' as the camera cuts to aged Syrus was genius.

My favorite part of Yu-Gi-Oh GX was the part where Jaden had PTSD

*"We'll make the grade somehow"* really does sum up Season 4 to a "T"

"Hey, guys, we know basically everyone on Earth outside of, like, 3 people just got assimilated into a world of psychological torment designed to eradicate all of your hope until you give up the very will to exist as a person, but we ARE still gonna tally up the points for the Graduation Duels, this Yugi Mutou replica Deck wasn't cheap!"

Especially season 4 definitely was something else. Psychologically torture people with stuff like making them believe that they caused their mother to die and should've chosen to die with her instead of living, and all that for the purpose of putting all of humanity into some sort of Groundhog Day simulation where their hopes and wishes for the future keeps getting mercilessly stomped into the floor until they literally choose to give up their very existence.

I laughed way harder than expected, the combination of upbeat lyrics about school life in combination with scenes of all the suffering and defeat in the show was hilarious

You missed the part where jaden’s parents put him through electro shock therapy. To be fair, most people do, but i’ve always been taken aback by how normalized and glossed over something so realistic and damaging was. Something like that is the core of yusaku’s backstory and character, yet with Jaden, ww collectively put it on the backburner to discuss the other issues, unconciously doing that the rest of the main do to jaden in a way

We went from having fun duels with your friends to having depression, PTSD, deaths and suffering.

I love the guitar riff that just shows people dramatically “going to the stars”

To me GX represents the loss of innocence. You won't stay a kid forever. You will have responsabilities one day, you will lose friends, that's just how the world works. But that doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you love the most, even if it's a silly children cards game :D.
