With the help of the Culture Recovery Fund, the Loughborough Bellfoundry Trust has been able to keep caring for this wonderful building and Taylor’s Bell Foundry has continued to operate through challenging times.

The Foundry’s work is crucial to thousands of historic buildings in the UK and around the world that rely on its services for bells and bell towers.

Grants from the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage and the Heritage Stimulus Fund have preserved jobs, skills and processes unique to the industry.

Just a comment on songs of praise when the programme is about the emergence of the temperance league. The emergence of clean drinking water came about in 1866 and was started in 1848.Up until then the only safe water was ale of some kind.So the emergence of the temperance societies coincided with safe drinking water no coincidence.

Only one foundry remaining? I presume the guy was talking about the UK only and not worldwide? Regardless, it seems like a dying art/trade, which is very, very sad. Tragic, even. I hope there is a renaissance of bellfounding in the UK, and, indeed, worldwide. Interesting video, btw. Thanks for the upload..
