What should you put on your website? Breaking down my strategy

In this video I'm walking you through a recent web design project I worked on for a small business, focusing in on the website strategy part of my process. First I think about the main goal of the website and of each of the webpages, and then I use wireframes to help me plan out what will go on each of the pages. This video is aimed at beginners who are trying to build a website for their business and are unsure of what kind of content to include. Hopefully in sharing my thought process behind the text (aka the website copy) I use and why I add certain sections, it will give you a better idea of what to include on your website.

I love this video and what a great website it turned out to be (I love the collage idea in the hero section)!! This was exactly the type of content/explanation/walk through I was scouring YouTube for a while ago when I first found your channel - of course I still subscribed before this because your content was good 😌

I’m transitioning into freelance web dev and design after my traditional theory-based computer science to corporate software engineering route. Videos like this have helped me learn new things and also be able to articulate what I intuitively knew just from my personal observations (like the hero and social proof concept). Your channel has been a master class in my journey thank you ❤ a video on including branding/graphic design into your web dev work and client pricing for that would be awesome

Yes, would like to see more about the background graphic design aspect, please. Currently seeking a video on YT to show how to add patterned blocks for background. Thanks for great content!

This is fantastic! Jen, you did an amazing job on this video. The strategy is crystal clear, and your explanation of why you selected these options really demonstrates your authority and expertise.

One small piece of feedback: the social proof sections with the light green background and green text can be a bit hard to read. I’d suggest using contrast accessibility tools to ensure that people with color blindness or visual impairments can fully appreciate the incredible work you’ve done here.

Did you also do the branding/copywritting? I'd love to know what that process is like? Thank you!

It's amazing to me how each one of your videos just keeps getting better and better!

Now... should I make pricing more prominent on my website? 🤔

Hey Jen, you did an amazing job of explaining the thought process behind the most crucial part of a website, but how can I tailor a website for a baby carrier website? I am tasked with revamping the website, So could you help me plan on what to put, there are a few things I like and some I don't.

As a web designer mainly using no-code tools to directly create websites, I want to know when you're working in Figma, do you use Auto Layout and make the design responsive within Figma? Or do you just create wireframes without focusing on layout or responsiveness?
