Hi, I believe there is a misconception in the last stage of the Gibbs Reflective Cycle. When creating an Action Plan, the individual undergoing reflection is expected to develop a specific plan to address the problem in case it occurs again. The plan could be something like: "To approach the problem in a more empathetic manner, I should consider bringing the patient's relative to a private and well-lit room, offer them a comfortable seat, and provide tissues and water in case they need them to wipe their tears." Additionally, an explanation of why it would work could be included: "While the relative is comfortably seated and has been provided with necessary aid for an emotional outburst, there is a high chance that they will realize the staff cares about their mental state and treats them with dignity."

In the video, instead of presenting a specific Action Plan, this phase was merely summarizing the conclusion stage. Notice how no additional information is provided in the Action Phase compared to the Conclusion Phase.

Conclusion:

You may recognize that you could have taken more time to listen to the family member's concerns and address them in a more empathetic way.

Action Plan:

You may decide to approach difficult conversations with more empathy and understanding in the future.
In essence, both phrases convey the same content – the professional showing more empathy towards the family member. However, I would like to propose a better revision for crucial lessons like this one. Reflection is extremely important for building knowledge effectively, and understanding the Gibbs Reflective Cycle can offer many benefits to a learner when explained clearly and correctly.

Please dont ever use a narrator when creating videos. We live in a world where ai generated youtube videos are more and more common. It feels cheap and I feel cheated.
