Self-driving tractors sow the seeds for high-tech farming (CNET News)

Farmers have been able to drive tractors hands-free for years. Now, there's even more technology to help with planting and harvesting.
CNET's Shara Tibken visited John Deere's test farm in Iowa.

Apparently, self driving technology has been around for 15 years as far as tractors go. But you only see them on big farms out west, like this one. I live in New England, and I've never personally seen a self driving tractor in either New Hampshire or Vermont, and there are plenty of farms in those states.

This is all quite grand, but tractors are certainly going the way of modern fun fixing them yourselves. On the other hand, I suppose if you can actually afford one of these, a mechanic is probably not out of the budget.
