------------

------------

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Whenever I finish an episode, I always tell myself, "Okay, that was the last one, I won't watch anymore so I don't burn through it all." Yeah, that doesn't work at all, lads.

"Right. Hostage video?"

I think we’ve concluded that Doc is, in fact, a pineapple person.

Joe: "I'm forty years old"
Alex: "Happy birthday"

Alex is pretty damn quick, underratedly so

In 25:42 Doc hits the keys of the typewriter in the rhythm of the William Tell Overture, foreshadowing his set task

Alex seems to have learned some tricks from Tree Wizard if the commercial bits are to be believed

my favorite part of this show is how genuinely uninterested alex seems whenever anyone asks him to participate in the task

Jon's face when he realizes what is going on at 25:17 is priceless.

Today I learned "blue" means "smutty" in the Northern UK. That's hard to find even on the internet, but Cassell's Dictionary of Slang confirms it. Thanks Google Books.

John's pineapple hiding was incredible, his technique was genuinely smart, at the start of the task I thought "hiding it in a LOT of places is bad, just gives him more chances of guessing a right place" but it turns out it was actually the best tactic, and all the diversions he did worked out perfectly.

I think the funniest part is Greg holding Alex's hand for a large part of the episode

Katherine saying, "Yes my lordship" when told to read the live task is the perfect quick joke

25:15 is one of my favorite bits in all the nine series of Taskmaster.

Jon realized what happened, looked ad Greg who just beamed the cheekiest of grins, than back to Jon muttering some swear words to himself...

Are we just not going to talk about how Greg is caressing Alex’s hand ever so gently at @11:14

For the pineapple bit, I think I would have pulled off 3-4 leaves and hidden them in random places, then just put the rest of the pineapple in a blatant place, like under my shirt. The big part is discovered quickly and then the rest of the pineapple is nearly impossible to guess the locations.

I'm convinced that Joe has turned something that should be medicated into a career and I love him for it.
