According to many Brazilians, Curitiba is considered the safest, cleanest city in Brazil, with the highest standard of living.

So I decided to try living in Curitiba, Brazil for a total of 2 months, with many adventures along the way.

I write this follow up review about Curitiba, Brazil after procrastinating for more than 4 years, but as the saying goes, it's better late than never.

I am an American from Texas. I'm married to a beautiful Brazilian woman from Rio de Janeiro. Her brother and family live in Curitiba and we have visited there several time. I have fallen totally in love with Curitiba. It is clean, urban, and overwhelmingly beautiful. Its culture, its architecture, its people are absolutely stunning. This video, I am sorry to say, does not show Curitiba for what it really is. The city is clean and has many very high end shopping areas. I have never felt unsafe here. The parks are spectacular while at the same time feeling very comfortable and safe. I am truly thinking of retiring in Curitiba. I have been to Rio, Sao Paulo, and even spent time with family in the beautiful resort town of Buzios, plus many others, and have not found any city more livable and beautiful than Curitiba. I have never found a city in the US as comfortable while urban than Curitiba.

I agree with you man, I loved Curitiba, it is very clean, secure, modern, green. The only things I didn't like kinda are: it gets cold - i can't tolerate when it gets lower than 20C, people don't walk much - mostly move in cars, and there's no beach lol

Fun fact the horse statue my grandpa was the one who build it and he also build a nascar road in Italy and he build his own house in coritiba which I have great memories

I'm debating on whether I want to go to curitiba or Florianopolis. I was think Florianopolis for 6 months and curitiba for 3 months.

Just curious, what's the employment status/index there compared to other Brazilian cities? Is it a burgeoning city in terms of quality of living?

One thing i can say for sure. Curitiba may seem boring to gringos, because to live fully integrated in a city like this, you must at least know portuguese well, cuz most people from here do not speak good english and theres a huge language barrier because of that. We have no beaches, no major parties and the touristic attractions are more enjoiable for children or old people. So i really think you should bear that in mind before moving.

Floripa is a city that all the Brazilian friends that I have tell me is that safe and clean city. I've heard nothing about Curibita yet So it's interesting you say it's supposed to be the cleanest and safest

This about safest city ..., well, this was once. I was living in Curitiba until 1988. Every time I returned to Curitiba I felt the city was getting more and more dangerous.
