Fortensi Cat Snake, Boiga fortensi is a cat snake species.
It is called cat snake as its eyes resembles those of a cat.
They are mildly venomous but harmless to people.
It is a rear-fanged colubrid that is endemic to South Asia.
This was found in Sri Lanka in a village area.
They lay clutches of 5-10 eggs between August and September.
This is the largest cat snake species in Sri Lanka.
They are nocturnal creatures so they are only active during nighttime.
They prey on rodents, lizards, other snakes, small birds and bats.
