In this video, I talk about what size inverter for 100Ah battery. Join me as I break down the complexities and provide straightforward answers to crucial questions like what size inverter for a 100Ah battery and how to size a battery for your inverter.

I'll cover everything from calculating the ideal inverter for both lithium and lead-acid batteries to exploring different voltages and capacities. Plus, I'll show you how to determine how long a 12V 100Ah can power a 1000W load.

When it comes to lithium batteries, I recommend sticking to a maximum of 1000W, while for lead-acid batteries, aiming for around 200W per 100Ah battery is ideal. By understanding these key principles, you'll be able to optimize your off-grid solar power system for maximum efficiency and longevity.

And don't worry—I won't leave you hanging when it comes to practical applications. I'll provide real-world examples and walk you through the calculations step by step, ensuring you have all the information you need to make informed decisions for your solar setup.

But that's not all. I'll also tackle the important question of standby power consumption and recommend the top-notch Victron phoenix inverter lineup, known for its superior performance and energy efficiency.

This is great. Thank you. I'm running 2 100 w eco-worthy panels into a controller, and the one deep cycle marine battery 100 amp hours to a 600-volt Amazon cheap DC to AC hook to the battery. It's always on, . I have 1 3. 9 to 14.4 max when battery is full. I leave the inverter connected, there is a shut-off switch but there's always an LED light connected. I haven't used it besides using lighting and charging phones, simple things. I was thinking of getting another marine battery to add to it. It's kind of expensive to purchase a lithium battery and have them delivered, Amazon boxe, homeless in a van.., I don't think I can get one to an Amazon box. Buying them in person is extremely expensive at stores. For the lithium. But I really appreciate all the info. I'm just trying to run a 400 watt ceramic space heater in my van during the winter. I think I'm going to have to go to a diesel heater, and get another battery so it will actually run for about 3 to 4 hours a night through the coldest part. Hoping

24 Volt 100ah Lithium with a Victron 24/1200 watt Inverter and 800 watts o Solar using a 100/30 Victron Smart Solar Charge Controller works really Good here in The Southern California High Desert 🌵 Thank You Nick

Good info. There is no one size fits all. Need to pick each component based on the entire system.

What is the purpose of a shunt?
Where does it go and how is it connected on each end?
Where do you put high current fuses in the system and what attaches on each side?

Thank you. I have been searching for two days for this information. My only question left is will a wattage surge greater than the capacity of my lifepo4 battery bank damage my batteries? Perhaps you answered that when you said the BMS would shut the battery down were the wattage to go too high but I wasn't sure.

Your brief description of the calculation by battery type is helpful! I have (2) 12v 54ah Lithium batteries wired together. Is the 1000w inverter still the right choice? Thanks!

I've been using four sealed lead acid batteries with a 2000 watt 12V inverter powering washing machine that peak draw about 1800 watts. Been in service over one year now. I do 2-3 loads per week.
So I'm apparently way under sized my battery bank??
Thank you for good informational video.

Great video. I love your animated pen technique... question: You suggest a fuse per battery prior to connecting to the bus in a parallel setup. The lithium batteries I use have a solid 200a BMS which shuts off with a short or other over-current situation. Is an MRBF fuse on each battery necessary? (the after-bus-bar [positive line does have a 200a fuse).

could you please do a video on 18v drill batteries and say 1000w 12v inverter, how many would you need, step down controller and diodes. this would be very interesting as there are many new power banks coming out with drill batteries .

I love the 280/310ah cells as the most bang for the buck and favour the 1.5kw 3 kw peak inverter combo - it allows a microwave, toaster, kettle etc one at a time - it's more than twice your battery allowance to cover them rainy day or three that sometimes visit

Hi Nick, videos are great I have 4 solar panels @200 w each hooked up 2s2p to 40 amp charge controler. Batteries are 2, 12v 200 ah that I am making 24v by going series. I don’t have a 24v inverter yet and would like some advice. Ian looking at victron multi plus 4000 or the sungold inverter charger. This project is mainly for emergency backup for a fridge. Thanks

I only need to power my cpap machine 75w and my laptop 65w so I got a 300w inverter. It works fine. I'm planning on getting a few 100ah lithium batteries, I already have the first one.

Great video, very helpful. I have a 51.2v/ 105ah lithium battery on my golf cart and am looking to install an inverter and possibly a solar panel on it. Any recommendations on a good 4000watt inverter that could handle this project?

Hi Sir .. lov all your vids . They give great info and are very entertaining.. I was wondering if I could use a power inverter that plugs into my car cigarette liter .. 200 out put. Then plug my power station into it and charge it up

thank you for the presented material. recently I heard that photovoltaic panels can be equipped with optimizers. what they are and if they can be used in any situation.

What size inverter should I use with 2 12v 100ah and what for 4 12v 100ah in series

Thank you for the video, Question, can I use a 1000W inverter with a 200Ah gel battery?

There is nothing wrong with using an oversized inverter. One reason would be to allow for future expansion. Just don't draw more power than your current battery system can handle.
