I just think of Robot Chicken when Palpatine is waiting for an elevator and it's full of Quarren 😂

The bigger question though is why do the Quarren wear shoes but the Mon Calamari don't?

Seriously, it's bugging me.

I would really love for you to do a video on Gundarks. I know almost nothing about them.

So, first Old Republic content is teased in Doctor Aphra and Solo. Then, Star Wars Aperion gets shut down and within a week more Old Republic content is released in Galaxy of Heroes.
I sense something big coming.

Explain Zabraks. Like why there's only males on Dathomir and why they're compatible with Nightsisters. And how this changed from legends like when the night sisters had pet rancor

I love these bread and butter SWE videos. Not that the other ones aren't great, but these are how I found your channel back in the day and you just do them so well.

2:31 You say this as if George Lucas was bound or limited in some way by the rest of the expanded universe. It's the other way around. The EU is bound to him and what he makes in his movies and shows. The history of background characters and species isn't really that big of a deal to him compared to the main film characters. Besides it's not the first time that there's been minor retcons in Star Wars. In ANH, Obi-Wan said, "For a thousand generations the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic." In AOTC, Palpatine states, "I will not let this Republic which has stood for a thousand years be split in two." Which one is correct? In Legends, they both are. It was clarified that Obi-Wan was referring to the over all timeline of both the Jedi's and Republic's formation 25, 000 years BBY. As for Palpatine, it was clarified that he was referring to the current Golden Age of the Republic since the Ruusan Reformation after the New Sith Wars. Unfortunately, now this inconsistency is still in place since both of those events have not occurred in the new canon and there's no clarification on what they were referring to.

“LucasBooks has always checked with the boss to make sure that none of its projects interferes in any way with anything that he is planning. And while plans can change, rest assured that the wonderful expanded fictional universe enjoyed by so many fans has in no way stomped or trampled on any of George Lucas's prerogatives or options."-Steve Sansweet, Director of content management and had of fan relations at Lucasfilm, Starwars.com November, 2000

“After Star Wars was released, it became apparent that my story—however many films it took to tell—was only one of thousands that could be told about the characters who inhabit its galaxy. But these were not stories I was destined to tell. Instead they would spring from the imagination of other writers, inspired by the glimpse of a galaxy that Star Wars provided. Today it is an amazing, if unexpected, legacy of Star Wars that so many gifted writers are contributing new stories to the Saga.”-George Lucas introduction to the 1994 reprint of splinter of the Mind’s Eye

"GL is certainly not bound by the EU, though he's certainly open to using things created in it (Aayla Secura and the Coruscant name, for example). On the other hand, the quote you provide makes it sound like the EU is separate from George's vision of the Star Wars universe. It is not. The EU must follow certain tenets set by George through the films and other guidelines that he provides outside of the films."-Leland Chee, Continuity Database administrator aka Keeper of the Holocron for Lucas Licensing, on starwars.com December 7, 2005 (In response to the “I don’t read those books” Starlog magazine quote)

“Everything outside of the films was collectively known as the Expanded Universe serving as an extension of the same universe as the films. If something happened in a book or a comic, it could potentially affect everything else happening in the universe. Any discrepancies that resulted would be resolved or retconned (short for retroactive continuity, i.e. changes from previously established continuity) across the board to try and create some consistency.”-Leland Chee, Continuity Database administrator aka Keeper of the Holocron for Lucas Licensing, Starwars.com July 20, 2012

And by pointing out this particular inconsistency, do you think that this proves the New Canon is more consistent and therefore better? Because I can provide a whole list of examples that it is *not* .

So, there's really not a whole lot of differences between new and old canons with the major exception being Quarren political policy going from aggressive to peaceful and back, which isn't unrealistic.
