O glorious holy Nicholas, pray to God for us! (scroll down for words of the hymn!)
This week Fr. Alexander introduces us to Papa Nicholas Planas--who lived in recent times and was a true warrior of worship and prayer. His liturgies, because of all the people he prayed for, lasted from 8am to 2pm! Join us to learn his hymn and get to know him better, celebrated every year on March 2nd.
Fact: For 50 years, every single day, Papa Nicholas served the Divine Liturgy!
Fact: Papa Nicholas carried around lists and lists and lists of people he prayed for. He called these papers his “bills and contracts.”
Last fact for today!
Hymn to Saint Nicholas Planas
Let us praise our protector, the godly Nicholas; as one endowed with blest virtue, he shone forth as a true priest of the Most High God, and was His fervent worshipper. For, by his holy life on Earth, he has left us most sublime, divine and unfailing teachings of long-suffering, meekness, patience, unfeigned humility and true God-like love.
