The lineout maul is the single most effective weapon for both scoring tries and securing field position. In this Rugby Analysis video I take a look at 2 lineout maul set ups that New York use to score tries against Toronto Arrows in Major League Rugby 2021.

It's really important that the main building blocks of the maul are nailed and I've highlighted the key roles players perform regardless of what kind of lineout set up is used!

Quick video... pure quality content.. Toronto messed up by not having a counter on their wheel. These short videos are gorgeous GD. Keep it up mate.

The only problem with this video is that the lifter (5) commits a penalty by stepping in front of the catcher as he lands, shape of the maul is good but for those watching you cant block in front of the catcher like this.

I coach a team in the states now and keep getting penalties against my team because my players bind for a maul straight from line out and move forward but the opposition does not bind. How could we legally get around this ?
