Caterpillar CTL And MTL Undercarriage Comparison

Показать описание
Comparing Caterpillars CTL (compact track loader) and MTL (multi terrain loader) undercarriages using a Cat 279C (CTL), 277C (MTL) and 299D (CTL). This was filmed when I went out to Caterpillar's proving grounds last year. It was a pretty neat comparison and really showed the different undercarriage styles. I wish we had some competitors brands to see how they compared. In general I liked some things about the Cat track loaders and didn't like some things but they definitely had the smoothest ride of any track loader I have ever operated.

That's what I noticed too. The ride control didn't seem to work well at all, it made the bucket bounce way more.

This is a great video, thank you for putting this together. This answers a lot of questions about these machines.

Thanks, Yes I went to the cat manufacturing plant as well. I have been to the New Holland/ Case plant as well. Very cool experience.

That ride control didn't seem to do a lot on the 299D. Maybe Cat has gotten better since this was filmed, but seeing some demo vids of ride control on some of Bobcat's new machines, they look to have nearly perfected it. It's as if Bobcat put shock absorbers from a Mercedes sedan under the lift arms.

If Bobcat invited me out to their facility I would gladly make some good videos about their products. I have been invited by 3 different manufactures to there manufacturing pants and proving grounds. But nothing from Bobcat, kind of ironic?

Yea, was kind of trying to figure out what was so much better about ride those machines lose more of the load...

Very informative.

Try to get a tour of the Manufacturing plant.
John Deere Loaders are built in Dubuque, Iowa.
I went twice for our 2002 and the 2006.
Great experience, and you'll learn a lot about your machine.

How do you like the cat loaders over bobcat thinking of a 299d but not sure if I should consider the large Bobcats opinions
