Nothing Phone 3a Pro Review: Great Value Mid-Ranger With Style

The Nothing Phone 3a Pro is a mid-range phone with premium looks and a pretty good 3X Periscope zoom lens.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7S Gen 3, with a 6.77-inch 120Hz OLED screen. There's also a new button named Essential Key that logs into Nothing's curated AI space.

I do like Nothings aathetics from the transparnt back and UI, I know Xiaomi did the transparent back ages ago with the mi8 or whatever it was but it's great to see someone keeps doing it.

It's great to see your channel develop into a sensible, non-sensationalist, well-thought-out, balanced take on the latest tech. To sum up, this phone is really good and helpful for those looking for a phone under $500 with specific preferences.

It is good that Nothing Company is now making money and expanding, which is worthy considering its late entry into smartphones and the very competitive nature of the industry. I am not the target audience, as the glyphs do nothing for me, but the rest of the package is solid. But at $500, the most important aspects for me are the chipset and the support, and for those reasons, the Nothing 3a Pro would not be on my radar.

It's a really nice phone in this price range but with a not-so powerful chipset (SD7sG3) at least they should've used UFS 3.1 instead of that super outdated UFS 2.2.

For me I think I'd go with OnePlus offerings in that price range or realme's 14 pro+ which is nearly identical to the nothing p(3a) pro but with UFS 3.1, bigger battery, faster charging, better ip rating, higher resolution display and better design (at least for me).

The problem with the camera is the motion blur, it cant capture moving subjects in low light. Subjects needs to be steady

I really do like the approach on colors with the camera. Doesnt look like a smartphone imho.

But they need to get shutter faster.

The sad truth is that this Nothing phone 3a Pro or other Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 phones (Redmi Note 14 Pro+, realme 14 Pro+) are here in the Czech Republic more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy A56. And the thing that I have to admit about it, even the Exynos 1580 is better, faster than 7s Gen 3. In general sadly, Chinese phones are more expensive here in general, whenever budget, midrange or flagship. Like the new Xiaomi 15 Ultra or Honor Magic 7 Pro being more expensive than both Samsung S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Both Samsung and Apple have 31% market share, Xiaomi is on 3rd place with 13% and is still declining. Only the OnePlus 13 and vivo X200 Pro are cheaper. But sadly, vivo with FunTouchOS is big no no.

Its corners are less rounded than the 2a series. Its bezels are also thicker, but I really love the back design.

what nothing cant fix since phone 1 till now is the super slow shutter speed, as you can see in this video, when you take pic of moving objects like people walking its always blurry

Hope the camera will be better/an improvement over the 2a Plus.

I still prefer the Nothing 1 camera sometimes. The 2a Plus overprocessed the images horribly.

As Nothing matures, hope they can afford custom motherboards that allows sunken camera design to make that camera bump thinner. Those are nice mid range sensors, but they look like 1 inchers😂
