Summertime is about here and a staple of the trout's diet are ants. Ant's are great for fishing on top the water and under the water as a nymph. In this video a share a top water pattern for them. This simple fly can be tied quickly and easily. Usually around the Fourth of July in my area is when I start fishing ants and beetles. This is the dry fly ant pattern I will be fishing this year.

What a nice summer fly. Instead of Antron maybe a drop of fluorescent nail polish on the back. And I really like the idea of fishing a wet ant underneath.
