Doing nights has kept me in nursing. I realized I'm not a ppl person and rather the calmness of nights, less ppl, residents are sleeping and family isn't there 😂 also you pick up on things at night that you wouldn't during the day. I tried day shift & evening & ended up going back to nights. I also do alot of praying for my patients and the workplace at night. The witches are working at those hours and so am I, with my armour on 💪🏾🙏🏾 😌

I have worked nights shift for 38 years. This is why I'm still in nursing.

I worked the night shift for 4 years before switching to days. Yes, days are a lot more active, but I love being able to sleep in my bed at night

Nights = less DRAMA and way less BS & More Pay! Nights & Weekend differential combined is 50% more pay. I ❤️ it!!!

Agreed. Night is less stressful however it take a toll on your body. Disrupted sleep pattern, difficulty it poses to family life and relationship.

I worked night shift for over 5 years, and I used to say that I would never go to days because it is so calm and serene. Now, I have been working day shift since 2022; I love it so much. I don't think I will never go back night shift full time. I love the luxury of sleeping in my bed at night. Even if I sleep 4 hours during the night, it helps better than sleeping 4 hours during the day.

Did night shift for 3 years. I liked the slower pace and being able to combine my breaks to get a good nap in 😁

I am a night girl too, love it so much! Totally agrees with you sis. Additionally, I love the way the fresh morning air kisses my face, ooh it also encapsulates my whole being with new energy.💪 Bless the Lord ❤😂

Nightlife is the best life for sure 😊. I work in ER. The environment is stressful enough. Add management shenanigans and it really becomes so tedious. But the nights....so chill. And the staff are so much more helpful during night. I love it.

I love night shift!! I tell people “I’ll never work another day in my life!!”” I can’t imagine day shift— too many doctors, meals, meds and visitors. My hospital went from 24 hour visitation to 8am-8pm only. I love it when the announcement is made that “visiting hours are now over”.

Day shift sucked my soul dry… but I still had never considered nights until the only hospital in my area that had a union was hiring and it was only for nights so I decided to give it a try. You’re absolutely right, I can’t imagine working day shift in a hospital ever again… BUT some nights feels like a huge struggle to stay awake and it messes with my hormones/mood as well.

My best friend is a nurse on night shifts and echoes the same sentiment. She loves it. On a totally different note, your skin is beautiful!

I worked nights my first two years of nursing and I loved it. I worked mornings the first 1.5 months prior to switching to nights. I was literally contemplating my life due to all the stress and mental toll and switching to nights was the best thing for me for that time. I currently work swing shift at a different hospital and I love this shift too. Although I love working nights my body wasn't loving it, but I'm surely not a morning person anyway AND mornings are too busy. So swing shift is perfect. It's busy the first few hours then it generally gets calmer for the rest of the shift.
