Edo 2024: INEC, Security forces mount guard amidst potential violence, disruptions

Today is election day in Edo State. Both the INEC and the Nigerian security agencies are prepared for the exercise. 35,000 police officers have been deployed to ensure peace and order during the election with about 500 officers with specialized training.

Edo has over 2.6 million registered voters, with 85% of them having collected their PVC's making approximately 2.3 million eligible voters ready to vote today. INEC has also deployed about 5000 BVAS machines and trained over 18,000 ad-hoc staff to manage the election across the 18 local government areas of the State.

Nigerians, Nigerians think, think deep. For now, any candidates that come from APC or PDP are rising from a bedrock of corruption and impunity. The only way we can change Nigeria for the better is to set aside all forms of sentiments and vote other party candidates enmasse. Do that and watch the positive change happen without prayer and fasting.
