From Trinidad and we eat cashews raw. Never killed anyone here. We also make wine from it and sometimes jams. However when we roast them they sometimes get you drunk from the oils that are released during the roast!

thats not a toilet plunger its a washing dolly, the person who bought it in an antique store obviously didnt know, washer women in laundries stood on platforms next to huge vats of soapy water filled with hospital sheets etc and swooshed the linen to scrub it

Fun fact: cashews are boiled after they are picked to make them safe to eat..if the package says ‘raw cashews’, it’s still boiled!

I used to roast cashews in Panama at abula 's house. We had it down to a science Start a fire underneath a scrap steel roof sheet. When they were ready, they would catch fire. We threw them on the ground to put out the flames.. The shell would crumble apart and the best tasting cashews I ever had.. To this day.. My abula would make a drink out the fruit.
