Volumetric clouds BP in UE4 4.26 and keep getting black sky. I have tried looking into the comments where some people have had success with adding an atmospheric fog but my texture looks black where in tutorial/youtube it appears more transparent, any help would be greatly appreciated. The built in volumetric clouds in ue4 work fine but seem to lack the additional controls that this one has to offer.

Gret tutorial, thanks for sharing. Just a small clarification, I don't think they forgot to add the speed to the BP, the cloud material and the blueprint material are 2 different things. Also, you don't need to edit the master material to edit its values, otherwise, you are just editing the default values of the master material. An easier way would be to right click on the master material and create a material instance, then apply that material to the clouds BP, and edit the material instance using the exposed parameters from the master material. That way you can test values without messing the master material and you don't have to recompile the master material every time you change a value. ✌

I noticed that it only works with atmospheric fog turned on. Otherwise clouds will be black.

I can't find that Volumetrics Content Folder I enabled the plugin and restarted but it's not there, even a search explicitly for that file doesn't bring anything up, when I searched for cloud I didn't find anything that was Volumetric. Is there perhaps something I missed?

Wonderful tutorial, but is there a way to change the direction the clouds move in? I've got the speed working, but want the clouds to come towards me rather than away from a static camera.

in Unreal 4.25.4 there is no Volumetrics Content .. why

Thanks! Wish I had access to bending the clounds. Sort of like how they can bend around a planet but to custom shapes like cylinders.

Nice tutorial thanks, I tried out the Volumetric clouds that are included with 4.26 Preview 2 and they didn't seem to cause any frame drop at all for me. This one dropped my frames down to 15fps when I first enabled it. However I haven't messed around with the one included in the Preview and I don't think they looked quite this good either.
Update: So I went back into the preview to check it out and see and the volumetric clouds included with 4.26 Preview 2 don't seem to have any noticeable performance impact but at the same time their not nearly as detailed as these one's are which I'm assuming is why, but they still look pretty good. Also, they don't even have half the options as this one does.

If anyone has the issue of the clouds or m_sky_custom_node prototype showing up black, that's because it's out of date in UE4.26.

Try using the "Volumetric Clouds" actor from the left Place Actors toolbar instead!

Silly Question, but in the 4.25 BP_Volumetric_Cloud, where are the Cloud Detail 2 and Cloud Detail Amount 2 settings hooked up, as they do nothing when I play with them in Details Panel? Is this just a leftover where they were going to allow more layers? Or is this something I can tweak somewhere? In one single BP is it possible to have 2 or 3 layers of different noise? Cheers!

Cloud layer thickness also HEAVILY impacts performance! Didn't hear it mentioned when you were talking about it around 3:20 :P

Is there any way to optimize this for performance only render what’s in front you and level streaming.
