I was a submarine sonar tech for 30 years. You would not believe the things we hear out there. Sound can travel for hundreds of miles and when it finally reaches your sonar array, it sounds like it is only a few miles away. Then, just like that, it disappears. So many fish and whales making all kinds of racket.

Ocean: *has undiscovered life and let's out demonic and unworldly sounds*
Scientists: Yeah it's probably icebergs and splashes and shit

If i had super powers, i'd have the urge to explore whatever's down there (and take my teddy bear with me).

Honestly, hearing any of these sounds while underwater alone would scare the crap out of me. I have severe thalassaphobia (fear of deep waters) if it’s dark outside, or if the water is dark, so these are pretty creepy noises, at least for me.

The best one ever is the haunted japanese wreck in truk lagoon...when divers enter, you can hear the machinery running....when you exit, its a dead ship....its inexplicable, NOTHING on that ship has run since sinking in 1944!

I remember scuba diving in hawaii and I went about 7-8 feet down into the ocean and began to hear whales singing while I was the only one under everyone one of the most scariest yet most beautiful moment I have ever been in.

Imagine just being a terrifying demonic monster in the ocean and you finally get known to the world and want a name that is fierce and produces fear to people but you get named bloop.

As a submarine sonarman, I heard most of these back in the 80's. The problem was that our recordings were all classified.

This video was fantastic and educative but holy hell what a great delivery from this girl. She needs to be a news caster or something or anything lol. Her delivery is quick, she doesn't waste time, efficient and her subtle facial expressions scream volumes.

I'm terrified of the ocean, but i can't stop coming back, it is so interesting and paralyzing at the same time.

We as humans have been to the moon, climbed the highest mountains, been to the deepest point in the ocean. Yet we only explored 5% of the ocean. So we never know, maybe there are mysterious creatures that lurk around in the ocean

Submarines give me that sinking feeling

fun fact: Nasa was originally a deep sea exploring company then out of the blue they decided we are now going to find a new inhabitable planet which sparks the question what did they find in the ocean that made them want to leave the planet?

When she said that “the Mariana Trench is the worst place for there to be scary sounds” I’ll explain. Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the ocean and the deepest place in earth. It is nearly 11 km deep and the pressure is so extreme there that only 2 people have made it down there. It is located just off the cost of Mariana islands.

I really do love the speed at which this girl talks. She gets the job she's doing done with a minimum of of garbage and let us get on with our day without injecting material that has nothing to do with the video that's playing. Thanks Olivia!

Holy crap, a video that correctly explains that the Bloop was ice. Much more interesting with the actual explanations and discoveries than, "Here is this creepy sound. Is it Cthulhu?"

Keep in mind that the Mariana Trench is (I think) the deepest known area of ocean discovered, who knows what could be down there🥺
