I didn’t think someone would outclass Kohli’s hundred, because that was an exceptional hundred, but Gill did it and how. That was just an outstanding innings. That was an ice cool chase by him. The amount of sixes he hit was the difference. Whereas Kohli and RCB didn’t hit many sixes, Gill just led an onslaught of sixes. I feel for Kohli because that was a lone warrior hundred and you certainly can’t say he played slow because he hit a hundred at 160 strike rate. But the difference was that quality of GT bowling vs RCB bowling. GT didn’t give 6 hitting balls but RCB were all over the place by the end. Rashid’s bowling performance and the wickets he and Noor took made all the difference. RCB was just not good enough in the end. The twin losses to KKR and the bad loss to DC were probably the ones they will look back at. GT looks unstoppable at the moment. They have the bowlers and batsmen for all conditions.

MI also make the top 4. Green played a destructive innings. That was also a special 100. Rohit didn’t look fluent but the fact he got some runs is big for them. They have a fully firing batting lineup. Their bowling is mediocre, but Madhwal seems to be a find.

Impressed with captaincy of Hardik, man had slip to Vk batting at 60, faf batting at 29 odd to his premier spinners. RCB weren't having slip to vijay shankar batting at not. With the exception of MSD's tactical brilliance or Surya's freak innings in the playoffs, GT got to be the favourites to defend the title, they got a ridiculous team, almost an equivalent of MI of 2019 & 2020. Nehraji have assembled a terrific squad.

Let's face it 200 is a par score in this IPL and RCB just didn't get enough despite Kohli's Heroics .The team is too dependent on their top 3 and it showed !

In RCB it seems there is no space for Indian players to blossom and be consistent specially the batters unlike other champion teams where youngsters come through bat at their preferred numbers and win them games

MI deserved to go through just because despite bumrah, archer and jhye not being there. They are winning matches purely on their batting line up. Imagine that trio back next year with their batting lineup. On par with GT' team, infact slightly better.

RCB had a total of 3 sixes in their entire innings. Shubman Gill alone had 8 sixes in his innings. Intent and high SR matters in t20. I had serious doubts over Gill in t20s, but he is showing evolution in his power hitting, which is a positive sign for his batting in t20s.
No disrespect to Virat, but his lack of striking ability is no longer suitable for modern t20s.

Kohli went for singles in the final overs to complete his hundred. He should have gone big. I think the those 2-3 deliveries made the difference. May be he realised that in the end after losing

Unfortunately for Rcb every year same Debates, Post Mortem, Sadness. I think from next year there should be 2 different ipl. I mean 1 ipl should be between 7 teams the second ipl should be between 3 teams. Rcb, Dc & Punjab because its been 16 years for these teams without a trophy. Atleast one of them will open their account in the end.

Conservative batting approach from kohli is not enough to go to playoff. Finishing season with 600+ runs but below 140 strike rate is not enough in 2023.

At chinnaswamy stadium, par score is 200. RCB had to get more than that to have a chance to win. And with their bowling attack they should have got to 220. Guess why they didn’t get 220? Over-dependence on top 3 and just a missing middle order.
