Great story! When Carlos and I decided to get married, I asked and he accepted, we wanted to do our own vows. Of course we weren't gonna tell each other what we were gonna say.
BACKSTORY: Carlos had seen a show off-Broadway he took me to early in our dating. He thought, "If he doesn't like this show, I can't date him." The show was THE LAST FIVE YEARS. We came out and I said, "This is most brilliant show I have ever seen!"
So, FIFTEEN YEARS LATER, I chose a lyric from the show to do as my vows BUT for extra fun I had his mother translate it into Spanish for a little "oomph".
But when we got in the moment and saw how like a factory system the town hall wedding process was we both decided to just get the wedding over with and tell each other our vows afterward.
In the car on the way to the dinner after I started to tell him my vows in Spanish he goes, "MINE WERE THE SAME
How fucking perfect is THAT?

Omg. Skylar is charming as ever but, as always, Shoshana is blowing me away with how she can take a well-established song and full-on turn it into a seemingly brand new piece of art - always breathing raw energy, authentic emotion, and pure LIFE into every note.
L5Y is my favourite musical - it has been since discovering it almost 20 years ago. So I hold that whole work dearly and tightly to my heart, and I distrust most who try to touch it (Despite my love for Jeremy Jordan, I even refuse to watch the movie), but I trust Shoshana completely with this.
I don't care if this particular production isn't even happening (or happening yet)... take my money. I need front row seats. I'll be there.
