Note: Both ways of pronunciation are totally fine. Some people get very angry about which is correct as you can see in these comments! Some (like sHhhedule) are American while some (like sKkkedule) are British. But mostly it’s all about personal preference, style, and influences like where you grew up or the option you most often heard from people around you. Ultimately tho they’re all equally right and wrong depending who you ask. ✌️🤓

In most dictionaries, the "l" in "almond" is silent, so why do you pronounce it?

If you’re presenting British English you’re just plain wrong about schedule and almond

....scone is pronounced 'skon' it is from the old english sconce- meaning hill or lump to place battlement.

"shedule" is the British pronunciation (RP). The "sh" in issue resulted from "s+ju"

Schedule always confuses me. I have heard so many native English speakers saying the way you said it is wrong 😑😫

The creator of GIF says “It’s pronounced JIF, not GIF.”

Sorry bud, you are wrong.
If you go to the OED online it actually gives both pronunciations.

Any way.they are scones ( as in stone) until you've eaten them, then they're scone (as in gone)😊

No. Schedule with a soft c is BRITISH. Unfortunately most brits now pronounce it with a hard C thanks to American influence in films

Really hate “isssue” and not “ishue”, and “shedule” instead of “skedule”.
It actually is better to say “scon” rather than “scown “ though both are valid. Think it’s a question of Queen’s English v non!

What's going on here? 😜They're all used as borrowed words in Japan, too. We also say ‘schedule’ and ‘issue’ almost the same way! But ‘almond’, ‘scone’, and ‘GIF’ have been lovingly turned into アーモンド, スコーンand ジフ.❤😂We hope to make it up to you with a delicious cuppa and a smile as warm as a freshly baked “スコーン!”☕️😃
thx🫶
