Two years ago, I wanted to take my dog to the vet because she had developed a tumor on her rear end. The vet refused to treat her because she had not had a rabies vaccine in 5 years. She’s 13 years old and her risk of being exposed to rabies is almost non-existent. I reluctantly allowed the vet to give her the shot though, because I was scared about her tumor. After vaccinating, the vet offered precisely zero help with the tumor situation, saying that my dog was too old for invasive treatment, so I should just provide palatine care until it became too unpleasant. I realized I was on my own and set about giving her an extensive holistic treatment plan of my own invention. With the help of cannabis and medicinal mushrooms, I managed to make the tumor go away. A few months after the vet visit, however, she developed another tumor, at the exact location where the rabies vaccine was administered. It’s growing and is not responding to the treatments I used to dissolve the original tumor, on her butt. I wish so dearly that I had never gone to the vet and let them convince me to give me that rabies vaccine that she didn’t need and which has clearly done her harm.

Here are SEVERAL things to consider… and things I have dealt with personally in the veterinary field working in emergency veterinary medicine. If your animal gets hurt and you take it in to get treatment, they are more likely to bite out of fear and pain. If your dog in not rabies vaccinated and bites staff, that technician or doctor has to wait 10 very agonizing days hoping they are ok, along with your dog being quarantined for 10 days. If you go outside at all with your dog, you are going to possibly place a panicked call, like hundreds I have dealt with, when your dog picks up/eats a mouse/bat/something alive or dead on the ground… and stress about if it had rabies. I am not even going to begin to tell you the nightmare you go through if your dog gets attacked or bit by another dog…I have seen even the best technicians get attacked on their face by a rabies positive cat. If everyone stops vaccinating for it, it will increase just like the cases of everything else that is on the rise due to not vaccinating.

This is stupid. Just shows the lack of common sense in today's world.

What do you do when your dogs up to date on all vaccines including rabbies and the State wants you to re-vaccinate because its been ex amount of time? My vet says the sate wants to fine me or make me re-vaccinate my puppy.

My mini dachshunds don’t get annual vaccines, my dogs also do not go around other dogs outside the family, it’s to risky when the same dosage you give a large breed dog, is given to a small breed dog…why in the world do they do that, the chances of my dogs being unattended and attacked by a rabid animal are 0-none…..my dogs are now seniors and they have done fine without the vaccines…When I decline the rabies vaccine for my dogs, the vet doesn’t ask why and doesn’t press the issue..

Where does rabies come from? Not another dog. My dog has been damaged by the vaccine rabies. She now has cysts that we are dealing with
