I love the detail that they can't blink, and instead their eyes just squish and stretch for showing emotion <3

Love it's basically "it's the thought that counts" as the human sees the 'cake' the mermaid presents like: "I don't know what that is" and instead of making the mermaid feel bad just gives her a hug. Presents bread, companionship, and kindness, but while unsure what to make of the concoction just accepts it and treats it like a sculpture before the mermaid takes a bite. It's a good detail how underwater the silhouette makes it seem like she made a cake, but when presented it's a mishmash of underwater stuff even if the intention was there it's presented almost like; "I make you a cake"

The desire to share love doesn't always come across the way you want. But the love in trying is always there.
Love the mermaid's face when the book just disintegrates. The smooth facial expressions are just so nice.

I think my favorite thing about Youtube is getting the opportunity to see these class projects for film design and animation displayed for the whole world to enjoy. Just imagine, without the internet and YouTube, these wonderful pieces of art would be locked inside a classroom, never to be shared with the public.

I like how the human friend recognizes his mermaid friend’s effort in making him a “cake” and appreciates it. It shows the strong bond between the two characters. Story and characters aside, the animation is beautiful. I hope you guys have a good day!

It's crazy to think I get to work with this incredibly talented person! I loved the cute little story, the beautiful backgrounds, adorable expressions and everything about this little project. Everyone who helped make this a reality should be so proud of the final result. I hope this student film continues to reach others over the years and inspire more to join the profession.

I love her lil lure lightbulb. Also the face of "welp" when the book crumbled to dust, and the face of "OH, how could I NOT see that that's what this awesome pile of fish guts is?! Silly me!" are v clearly communicated. I love the visuals as well, somehow the trippy and the cartoon work really well together
