Company: Real fruits added!
Customer: Bro I know that you just added a pinch of fruit powder in gallon of container 💀

Food and nutrition literacy is important.
If you don’t recognize a chemical on an ingredient list, LOOK IT UP!! For example, Cyanocobalamin and Cholecalciferol sound scary but are literally vitamins B12 and D3.

Did she say, "you can't cut it out." That's bullshit. I did, the most processed food i eat is steak and organic vegetables.

I cut on all of ultra processed rubbish. But I noticed when I am thirsty or if I eat something sweet I have more cravings for ultra processed rubbish. I'm drinking more water with electrolytes and that has helped me completely. Last time I ate something from supermarket on the road I had to stop in the middle of nowhere to get a bathroom. It's crazy! I don't want to get adapted to something that my body rejects so intensely and give nothing but problems!

“But the reality is, you can’t cut these (ultra-processed) foods out”…disagree. It’s not easy, but it’s possible.

It's incredibly possible to cut these out of your diet for months at a time. If you see there's a problem with them, and decide that eating them isn't a part of who you are anymore, it makes it easier and allows you to see things in a different way

And who told you they can't be cut out?

This is nonsense.

even on a low budget it isn't hard to cut out ULTRA processed food. staples like beans, rice, chicken thighs, milk, eggs, can meet your caloric needs and many nutritional needs. spices can help immensely too. never pass up the opportunity to eat wild berries and fruits in season for the multitude of nutrients they contain for absolutely free. not saying this is what the ideal human diet looks like but for cheap whole foods that's what you're gonna want.

Just keep in mind, anyone can call themselves a “nutritionist” with no formal schooling.
You want to hear from certified dietitians, as they needed the accreditation for that title. Be aware of the nutritionists who don’t understand the full spectrum of food and nutrition.

"The best way to eat ultra-processed foods" is very simple. Leave them untouched on the store shelf until the store feeds them into a trash compactor.

I like this - not demonising anything or trying to scare consumers, but giving a framework to make a decision, which also engages your conscious brain rather than mindlessly grabbing something

I honestly think that the industrialization of food production was one of the worst developments for human health since smoking.

Just eat a goddamn vegetable guys, it isn’t that hard.

The wise thing to do - avoid processed foods totally

What do you mean you can't cut them? I mean, if you're an addict, I guess, but you can overcome that. I guess the only justification for that statement is if you actually live in a 1-room-cubicle. If you have a kitchen and a fridge, ultra-precessed foods can easily be cut.

I hate when people say they can't give up the daily ultra-processed stuff because of their budget and "whole foods are more expensive."
...
Sooo you have the budget for all the medical bills and physical deterioration down the road? 🤦🏽‍♀️
In my experience, whole foods--even minimally processed foods--are actually much more budget friendly because you're more satiated from the nutrition and fiber, therefore needing to eat less.

I’m obsessed with cakes, tarts, cookies, waffles, donuts etc. but my rule is to bake them myself at home or only buy them from pastry shops or bakeries. Luckily I don’t like sodas or crisps.

My rule is that ultra processed foods should be judged for their nutritional profile, just like any other food. Whey protein powder is ultra processed, but still a great addition to your diet if you want a cheap high quality protein. Processing food isn't inherently bad.
