I remember when I was around 7 years old me and my family went to the park, as per usual, and we saw a camera by the “lucky dog”. Instinctively me and my brother pulled the middle finger to it or pulled a stupid face and I thought that was the end of that. I didn’t realise I’d see my home town, in which I still live in, straight up just on tv. My entire family flipped our shit.. Calderdale is rarely ever on popular channels.

Also I believe Wayne in this episode was hit by a car a few years ago and passed away on site. Flowers are still sometimes placed around by the road where it happened.

Gradually, every year, less and less people go up to pet the lucky dog. I haven’t seen any one go up to pet him in years.
During winter some of my friends and I go to rap a scarf around him but by the next day it’s gone.
A shame really but I still feel warm when I go up to pet the lucky dog before and after school

I believe Derren somehow persuaded Wayne to take the gamble. Wayne was the best person to use for dramatic effect. Also, with his super illusion skills, Derren assured that the dice pick was going to be the winner. Derren is amazing and seems to have a good heart too.

Although I absolutely love this little documentary, naturally I'm skeptical, especially with the roll of the die at the end. With all the suspense and buildup I feel like Wayne couldn't possibly lose. But, of course, not only would Derren have to deceive us, he would have to deceive everyone in the audience that day. Plausible, though, considering he *is* the greatest illusionist in the world.

On a much sadder note Wayne died in 2015 after being hit by two cars, the ultimate piece of bad luck that was entirely out of his hands. I'm not religious at all, but if Wayne is looking down on life right now I know he would be delighted that more people get to experience his tale. Thanks for making this available on YouTube, Derren.

I've become a real Derren Brown fan over the past few weeks and to see how he has the good of others in mind, lifts him to a higher level than many in our society. Thank you Derren for being so altruistic. It was wonderful to see the positive change in Wayne as the story proceeded. I must say that I was saddened to hear of Wayne's demise. RIP old friend.
