It can't hurt. When I was a kid we never worried about such things. As a parent I worried always. I taught my kids in a dangerous situation to be the smallest target possible, if it was to late to run and hide. 😢 They didn't have Xtra preventative measures then. My grandkids worry me more, it is so expected that no school is safe! We need to fix the gun situation in Congress. All automatic weapons should be banned all together for the general public. No one needs a gun like that! I don't want to hear I hunt with it or need it for protection. If we had strong gun laws you wouldn't need that to protect yourself, and hunting has no need for a weapon with that much destruction.
We're the only country in the world, as wealthy as we are, that has mass shootings. Maybe we should be more civilized like Great Britian, Holland, Germany, etc. They don't have our issues!!! They all still hunt, but no one is blown to bits by automatic weapons! We're 😢😢😢!

Sadly a great idea for every student. I taught 2nd grade 13 years and watching my kids practice active shooter drills broke my heart a little more each time. But for me it was important they were on point because in 2007 or 2008 we had a gunman run into our school to evade police after a burglary nearby. It's real when your school is surrounded by NYPD and SWAT teams. Thank goodness no one was hurt. This is a valuable item. ❤

My students would be active targets trying to get to their backpacks for protection. They only have their backpacks on coming or leaving. Most active shooters come during class time when they do not have their backpacks with them. Sadly!

Imagine living a "the greatest country in the world" and still actually believe that, while you have to protect yourself just to go buy some milk, honestly.. pretty much EVERY other country seems a LOT greater that the worn down USA😅

I love to live at a place where guns are so illegal that i don't need this and would never think about getting something like this and dont know anyone who would. But yes extra protection is super. 👍🏼
